Enabling WMI on Windows


WMI comes pre-installed on XP/Vista by default. To insure accessibility via WMI the user should check that the following service(s) are started:

Windows Management Instrumentation
Windows Management Instrumentation Driver Extensions


Step 1

Go to the Control Panel and double click 'Administrative Tools'.

Inside 'Administrative Tools' double click 'Computer Management'.

Expand Services and Applications, left click on WMI Control and follow the Windows menus.
