Besides early stage successes, the PacketTrap founder’s backgrounds include executive and management positions with Accenture, Apple Computer, SonicWALL, and VMware.

Steve Goodman
VP & General Manager - Network Management Division
Steve was previously CEO of PacketTrap Networks, acquired by Quest Software in December, 2009. Before PacketTrap Steve was founder and CEO of Lasso Logic, a network appliance-based data protection solutions provider to the mid market (acquired by SonicWALL; NASDAQ: SNWL). Prior to Lasso Logic, Steve was co-founder of Learning Productions, the first online learning simulation technology company. Learning Productions was acquired by SkillSoft (NASDAQ: SKIL), the largest provider of Cisco and Microsoft IT online certification. Before Learning Productions, Steve managed software and IT projects at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). Steve has a M.S. in Computer Science from The George Washington University.
Sal Sferlazza
VP - Product Development
Sal was co-founder and CTO of PacketTrap Networks, acquired by Quest Software in December 2009. Before PacketTrap, Sal was the co-founder and CTO of Lasso Logic, and the principle architect of SonicWALL CDP, the first continuous data protection backup appliance. The appliance is currently in production environments at over 20,000 IT departments covering more than 1,000,000 client severs and end points. Prior to Lasso Logic, Sal was Chief Architect for Learning Productions, Inc., where he worked with Steve Goodman, PacketTrap's CEO. The products he developed were the basis for the company's successful acquisition by Skillsoft (NASDAQ: SKIL). Before Learning Productions, Sal was a technology consultant at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Matt Bolton
VP - Product Management
Matt was co-founder and VP of Products at PacketTrap Networks before the Quest acquisition. He is a recognized speaker for IT infrastructure solutions and has over 12 years experience building businesses in Silicon Valley. After starting as a venture capital analyst at Woodside Fund, Matt then went on to lead Product Management efforts for Lasso Logic and SonicWALL (NASDAQ: SNWL). Lasso Logic developed the first continuous data protection (CDP) backup appliance focused on IT disaster recovery solutions. At SonicWALL, Matt led Product Management for the Business Continuity / Data Protection BU Most importantly, Matt led several high profile technology products within SonicWALL from inception to early stage deployment to mass customer adoption.

Vivek brings twenty years of experience as an entrepreneur, business manager, and R&D leader in a number of network computing and systems companies. Prior to joining August Capital, Vivek co-founded Cobalt Networks in 1996. As CTO & VP of Product Development, Vivek developed the first successful server appliance and grew Cobalt into a worldwide leader in the category, culminating in a successful IPO and acquisition by Sun Microsystems for $2B. At Sun, Vivek served as the Vice President and General Manager of the Cobalt Business Unit and a member of Sun's Technical Architecture Counsel.
Prior to founding Cobalt, Vivek held a number of technical and management positions at Apple, SGI, and Digital Equipment Corporation and successfully developed numerous products including Internet enabled set-top boxes, PDAs, RISC workstations, and high performance graphics subsystems.
David Drummond

David incorporated Google in 1998 when he was a partner with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, one of the nation's leading law firms representing technology businesses. David became Google's vice president, Corporate Development in 2002. In this role, David works with the management team to evaluate and drive new strategic business opportunities, including strategic alliances and mergers and acquisitions.
Immediately prior to joining Google, David served as executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer for SmartForce, where he helped transform the publicly-traded company into the world's largest e-learning company. David earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from Santa Clara University and his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Dean Drako

As president and CEO, Dean Drako is responsible for overall corporate strategic direction and product development. Prior to founding Barracuda Networks in 2002, Dean was founder, president and CEO of Velosel Corporation, where he successfully closed two rounds of venture financing. Dean hired his replacement so he could pursue his battle against spam at Barracuda Networks. Prior to Velosel, Dean founded Boldfish, a leading provider of enterprise messaging solutions that was acquired by Siebel Systems in 2003. Before Boldfish, Dean was founder, president and CEO of Design Acceleration, Inc. (DAI), maker of superior design analysis and verification tools, which was acquired by Cadence Design Systems in 1998. He has served as an entrepreneur in residence for SoftBank Venture Capital as well as vice president of product engineering at the 3DO Company. Dean holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Doug Brockett

As the Vice President and General Manager, Douglas Brockett brings to SonicWALL a broad range of product development and technology expertise. Prior to joining SonicWALL, Mr. Brockett was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Nexsi Systems, an early-stage Internet security company. Before joining Nexsi, Mr. Brockett held vice president positions in business development and system integration services with BBN and GTE Internetworking. Mr. Brockett holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Harvard University.
