March 19th, 2008: When is “Good Enough” not really “Good Enough”

March 19th, 2008

Every so often I hear from prospective customers that are considering the pt360 Tool Suite for their network management needs that their existing conglomeration of multiple free and paid tools is ‘good enough’ to get their job done. The concept of ‘good enough’ is strange to me. Having built a few successful companies and several great products, I know that “good” is the enemy of “great”. I never let our engineers or product managers rest on their laurels. We always strive to raise the bar with each new release. We also set a very high standard for each release. “Good enough” is never a reason to rush a product to market. I guess it struck me as odd because there are probably lots of people who are cool with “good enough” in their lives…

As an amusement to myself, I searched the San Francisco Bay Area Craigslist to find cars that cost around $1,500 (the list price for our product… we are running specials for the month of March, so don’t miss out!). Here are some of the cars I found that some people consider “good enough” to sell at the $1,500 mark…

Sure some of these *might* get the job done; but why risk it? Don’t settle for network management tools that are “good enough”…

Buy the pt360 Tool Suite PRO today and see why TechRepublic calls PacketTrap’s pt360 “The All-In-One Cisco Configuration Tool You’ve Been Looking For” and why Network World says: “Watch Out SolarWinds!”
